Last year at this time, I talked about breaking in a new president. I guess I can't talk about that this year, as it appears you are stuck with the same one for another year. I'll try to live up to your endorsement.
Last year I asked for your help, and you came through beyond my greatest expectations! You accepted committee positions; you volunteered for projects; you helped solve problems; and, you came up with new ideas for the club. As a result, we had, what I consider, a wonderful year.
This year, I will again need your help. And, it is my hope that you will come through with as much enthusiasm as before! Together, you have a tremendous potential; it behooves us all to realize the fruits of that potential. Working together, we can solve problems; we can achieve monumental accomplishments; and, at the same time, we can have fun, and enjoy and improve our photography.
You have already shown your eagerness by participating in a wonderful May Salon! The entries in the photo competitions were many, and excellent. We enjoyed a great speaker, and a dinner that was a nice break from our diets! I hope that all who attended had an enjoyable evening.
As I write this, we haven't had the Lincoln Camera Club Day at the Lincoln Children's Zoo. I certainly do appreciate the people who have volunteered to participate. I hope we have a wonderful day, and introduce some strangers to the joy of photography.
There are a multitude of people out there with cameras. And, a good number of them would like to be better photographers. We can offer them that opportunity, by introducing them to the Lincoln Camera Club. Once they have experienced a meeting or two, many of them will become active members. When that happens, I feel that we have fulfilled our duty, in some small way, of raising the quality of photography in the community.
I thank you, each and every one, from the bottom of my heart for all of your support and overwhelming help in this last year! It has been a most rewarding experience for me; I hope it has been the same for you.
