I certainly hope it really feels like spring by the time you read this! Right now, I’m looking out at a foot or so of snow, and it isn’t very conducive to outdoor photography (I don’t do either mornings or cold very well). Nonetheless, we had a great turnout of 38 people for the meeting last night, in spite of the bad conditions! I think that is terrific!

Those of you that did turn out, were witness to an excellent presentation by Matt Steinhausen on his barn photography.
I’m really happy with the way some major projects are coming along. In case you missed the March meeting, we are starting a new membership contest, printing a new recruitment brochure, incorporating the club, searching for grants, developing partnering relationships with the Lincoln Children’s Zoo and the Preservation Association of Lincoln, and putting together a weekend workshop. That sounds like a lot of projects, and it is! However, we have some wonderful and extremely capable people working on these projects, that make it all happen. Key among them this month are Yvonne Nelson, Darrell Watts, Glen Emswiler and Dennis Zabel, all with one goal in mind, to make this a better club.
More good news came in yesterday: we have a new advertiser for the bulletin, Cartridge World! If you haven’t already tried Cartridge World for your printer and copier cartridges, you might want to give them a try; they are in the phone book with two locations in Lincoln. I have been using their cartridges in my HP Photosmart printer for over a year with no problems.
By now, you know that our new website, www.lincolncameraclub.org is up and running, Thanks to John Peterson and Jim Atkins. In that connection, if you have internet access, and have not already done so, please sign up to discontinue receiving your mailed copy of the bulletin in favor of reading it (in color) on the website. We are still behind in obtaining enough volunteers for the savings to pay for the website. Just call or e-mail Bob Hilsabeck , 402-466-9464 or

We will be wrapping up the club year very soon, culminating in the May Salon. At that time we will have the election of new officers, hear reports on the years activities, and turn over the club to it’s new guardians. Now is probably a good time to contemplate what your contribution will be to the club in the next year. It only works when we all participate.
Well, that’s about all I have to say until spring really arrives! Clark Springman
