LCC New Home
I’m glad to inform you that LCC has a new home - - at least for now. UNL’s School of Natural Resources has been kind enough to offer the use of meeting space in Hardin Hall. It’s at the corner of 33rd and Holdrege on the southwest corner of the East Campus. Competition night (first Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM) will be in room 901. To get there go in the southeast door of the building, turn left to the elevators and go to the 9th floor. The room is directly in front of you when you step out of the elevator. This room is good for a maximum of 50 people. However, we seldom if fever have that many. We will need to fold up some tables and rearrange the chairs if we have a big crowd.

Regular monthly meeting (third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM) will be in room 163. This is located in the northwest corner of the building. You can enter the southeast door and wind your way through the halls to 163 or you can enter the northwest door.

Parking: There is some metered parking just to the east of the southeast main door. Bring at least two quarters and three is better. The meters are policed until 7:30 PM. There are some parking places marked for guests adjacent to the southeast entrance. We can use those. There are also parking places marked for visitors near the northwest entrance. We can also use those. Anyone parked in a spot that is not metered or is not marked for guests or visitors will be ticketed!  A recent check of parking spots at 6:45 PM showed most of the metered spots being taken by students headed to night classes. Some of the guest slots were also taken. If you arrive by 6:45 PM you may can park very near the building. Otherwise, you will need to park on a side street near Hardin Hall.

Side street parking closest to the northwest entrance is found on Potter Street. Since parking on that street is limited to the south side, the best way to get there is to take Holdrege one block to the west of 33ed. Turn right on Grace Ave. for one block and right again on Potter. You can park very near Hardin that way. Otherwise, you may find some parking just to the south of Holdrege on 34th or 35th. Remember, as tempting as those empty slots just to the north of Hardin appear, cars parked there are checked and will be ticketed if a proper hand-tag is not dangling from the rearview mirror. The best way to avoid a problem is to come a bit early (maybe by 6:40) and visit with friends. Parking slots adjacent to the building are limited. Think seriously about sharing a ride with someone.
