May Salon Photo Competition Change of Plans |
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Darlene Duvall will not be able to handle the competition this year, so I have agreed to fill in for her.
The May Salon is where we display our very best photography of the year. So, if you haven't already, get your prints made and mounted for this gala affair.
The rules are simple:
1) You do not have to attend, to enter (but, attend if you can—you'll be glad that you did).
2) Three prints per person, any subject, b&w or color, mounted and matted. Use linen mounting tape or Scotch Mounting Tape, but not transparent tape or masking tape. Linen mounting tape is best.
3) Typical size is 8"x10" prints in 11"x14" mats, but larger sizes are acceptable.
4) Panoramas can be any size, and must be mounted, but need not be matted.
5) Put your name and the title of the print in the upper left hand corner of the back.
6) Prints can be manipulated, but must be photo based.
7) Please pick up your prints at the end of the May Salon (except winners' prints will be needed for scanning). If you are not at the May Salon, you can make arrangements with me to pick up your prints.
8) 2008/2009 dues must be paid to enter the competition.
If you have not mounted and matted prints before, there are new instructions on the website located in the "Forms and Documents" - "Misc. Documents" area of the web page.
Darlene has asked for the prints by the April regular meeting, but we are going to run a little later than that. If you have them ready for this meeting, by all means, please bring them to me.
