Yvonne's Message for September |
To Our LCC Members:
The summer is rapidly drawing to a close. It seems like the May Salon was just last week! Since then we have accomplished a lot!
Gayle Mittan arranged the tour of Morrill Hall on August 12th, which was during the HOT weather and a very busy time. I’m sure, if you went, you were well rewarded.

I just returned from a most interesting journey…....via Internet…. to the Nebraska City Apple Jack Festival website, www.NebraskaCity.com ! So many interesting events happening, including one of special interest to us… a Photography Contest! Seems to me the festival offers many more photo ops than we may find on any other single visit. |

The 2007 Lincoln Camera Club year has started off with two exotic expeditions to Africa, some thoroughly enjoyable visits to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, and many good conversations with many of our very interesting members! For those of you who missed them, I’m sorry you did, as the expeditions to Africa were so well presented, I’m ready to go there in person. We have Claudius Shoniwa to thank for arranging a program by Isaak Kinyanjui from Kenya, and Darrell Watts for sharing the visit he and Lois made to Namibia. We saw how Pro Show Gold can be used…. And there’s more to come! Our Club has been invited again this year, to provide judges for the Weeping Water Photography Contest to be held in conjunction with the Weeping Water Festival. Judging will be held at the Legion Club in Weeping Water at 6:oo p.m. on Friday, June 29th. |

Yvonne's Message for June |

Well! Here We Are! After two years of excellent leadership by Clark, which followed many years of great leadership by each and every president before him, we are on the threshold of another year of photography. My first ambition is to attempt to follow that trend. In order to pursue that ambition, I shall need the efforts and ideas of each and every one of our members. The “idea hotline” will always be open at

or 488-3126. I would like to request your cooperation by getting involved in serving on committees, either as a chairman or as a committee member of a committee of your choice. The benefits you receive from our club are only as great as your involvement! Besides! It’s more fun! The May Salon at The Knolls was well attended and we enjoyed the presentation by Luis Peon-Casanova, who has become a new member of our club. Nearly 100 photos were displayed in the year-end competition. Clark Springman was presented a well-deserved plaque of appreciation for his valiant efforts he has provided our club the past two years. |

I just received an e-mail from Mari Lane Gewecke and as part of her signature block, she has included the following quote:
“Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible. ~ St. Francis of Assisi~”
I believe that is very true, as I think many of you (and I) have found over the last couple of years. Individually, we can only do a little; but, form a committee of enthusiastic helpers, and we can accomplish the impossible (or what seemed impossible at first)! |
