Yvonne's Message for October

Dear Members:

As I reflect on the seemingly short time I have been so involved in the workings of our club, I get the desire for more things to happen and for them to happen more quickly. However, thanks to so many industrious members working on so many projects, things do seem to happen as we need them.

When this Bulletin “hits the stands”, I am anticipating an influx of responses from the questionnaire we have issued, advising us of the direction we need to follow in planning our future programs and workshops. We will be making these decisions at the Board Meeting on the 9th of October. If you have any suggestions or desires along this line, Now Is The Time!

To Our LCC Members: The summer is rapidly drawing to a close. It seems like the May Salon was just last week! Since then we have accomplished a lot! Gayle Mittan arranged the tour of Morrill Hall on August 12th, which was during the HOT weather and a very busy time. I’m sure, if you went, you were well rewarded.

I just returned from a most interesting journey…....via Internet…. to the Nebraska City Apple Jack Festival website, www.NebraskaCity.com ! So many interesting events happening, including one of special interest to us… a Photography Contest! Seems to me the festival offers many more photo ops than we may find on any other single visit.

Yvonne's Message for July

The 2007 Lincoln Camera Club year has started off with two exotic expeditions to Africa, some thoroughly enjoyable visits to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, and many good conversations with many of our very interesting members!

For those of you who missed them, I’m sorry you did, as the expeditions to Africa were so well presented, I’m ready to go there in person. We have Claudius Shoniwa to thank for arranging a program by Isaak Kinyanjui from Kenya, and Darrell Watts for sharing the visit he and Lois made to Namibia. We saw how Pro Show Gold can be used…. And there’s more to come!

Our Club has been invited again this year, to provide judges for the Weeping Water Photography Contest to be held in conjunction with the Weeping Water Festival. Judging will be held at the Legion Club in Weeping Water at 6:oo p.m. on Friday, June 29th.
