Several of our members have been working as freelance photographers for the Journal Star for the last year. John Mabry from the Journal Star will be sending a staff photographer to critique photos that these club members have taken to help them and show us what to look for in doing Photojournalism. This will be a meeting not to miss..... |

Dust off the photos you have taken and get your cameras ready to go snap some new ones. The Lincoln Community Foundation has asked the Lincoln Camera Club to furnish photos for their use in publications. This could be a win-win situation for both the Foundation and LCC. They indicated a possible interest in supporting some of our projects such as the one at the Children’s Zoo.

The Lincoln Amateur Radio Club "Field DAY" is this weekend June 27th and June 28th. Field day is held at the VA Hospital at 600 South 70th Street in Lincoln. The fun begins around 8:00 A.M. on Satuday morning when all the Amateur Radio Club members begin setting up Antennas and Stations on the grounds. There will be a number of them there. The antennas are the most interesting subjects and extend high into the sky. This exercise has a two fold purpose: 1. To set up Communication Stations in a remote setting with out the use of public power to operate the stations. This will be helpful incase of a National Emergency. 2. To contact as many other stations across the USA and around the world in a 24 hour period of time. Contesting begins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and will run for 24 hours with out stopping. So come join us and watch the fun and take as many pictures as possible. Select your best prints in 4 X 6 size and bring them to the next club meeting. This will be fun for all club members. See you there! Larry Nelson ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ashland Amateur Radio Club will set up their station Saturday afternoon only (the 27th) out at Memphis Lake, which is another place one could go to take some pictures. This location requires a park sticker but would be a great place to spend an afternoon. Some of you may be interested in using this as an opportunity to enter the journalism category. Hope you can make it to one location or the other. Linda Graham |
